6th ESEA European Conference in Sports Economics

Call for Papers – 1st Announcement

ESEA2013
Please be invited to submit a paper to the 6th European Conference in Sports Economics, which will be held on September 3rd–5th 2014 at the University of Antwerp, Belgium. The conference is open to all areas of sports economics. Theoretical, empirical as well as conceptual manuscripts are welcome. Completed research or research in progress are admissible. Manuscripts already accepted for publication cannot be submitted. The conference will be held in English. Abstracts can be submitted until March 31st 2014. Submission process
 Abstracts (1 page maximum, 12-point font) should be submitted between January 1st 2014 and March 31st 2014 by e-mail to antwerp@sporteconomics.eu.
 Abstracts passing the double-blind review process will be accepted for presentation at the conference.
 Abstracts relating to the “Economics of UEFA Club Competitions” may apply for presentation in a designated UEFA workshop on this topic. Please indicate in the submission e-mail whether your abstract should be considered for this session.
 Abstracts submitted by graduate students may be considered for the “Graduate Student Best Paper Award”. Please indicate in the submission e-mail whether your paper should be considered, in which case it is mandatory to submit a completed paper by June 1st 2014.
 A selection of papers will be invited to submit for the conference issue of the International Journal of Sport Finance (IJSF).
PhD course
Prior to the conference, on September 2nd-3rd 2014, the economics department of the University of Antwerp organizes a graduate course on “Competition Policy and Sports”. Internationally renowned experts will provide in-depth teaching on IO-models of sports leagues, as well as a variety of competition policy cases in Europe and the US relating to sports.
