ESSA-Sport Outcomes are now available

Nov 4, 2019 The European Sector Skills Alliance for Sport and Physical Activity (ESSA-Sport) which concluded in October 2019 was co-funded by the European Commission under the Erasmus+programe (KA2) and provided a unique opportunity to engage the whole sport and physical activity sector at both the European and national level. The 3-year project, which began in November 2016, aimed to create a knowledge base and plan for action within the sector on the key issues of skills and workforce development which are central to helping the sector grow, to equip those working or volunteering with the right skills and to enable the sector to fulfill its potential as a social, health and economic driver. The partnership, led by EOSE, is now delighted to provide you with the project outcomes after this very ambitious initiative. Please note that all documents are available for free download (PDF version): > 28 National Reports* have been produced through the project gathering results from research activities (such as the statistics collated at the national level but also the national results of the first Employer Skills Survey for the Sport and Physical Activity Sector) and consultations led by national coordinators The aims of the National Reports are:

• To describe sports and education systems in the country
• To propose concrete conclusions and recommendations/priority actions for implementation at the national level

> The European Report has been developed by taking into consideration contributions from National Coordinators, inputs from consultation,n and results from the research activities. It presents the main findings collated and analyzed through the ESSA-Sport project at the European level. The aims of the European Report are:

• To describe sports and education systems across the European Union
• To present new knowledge gathered for the sector in terms of employment and skills
• To propose concrete conclusions and recommendations/priority actions for implementation at the European level

*Please note that 9 National Reports (Austria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Estonia, Greece, Luxembourg, Romania, Slovakia & Slovenia) don’t present detailed action plans as there is no national coordinator.
