Time to register for seminar on EU and sports governance

With one month to go, a number of intriguing speakers and EU projects on good governance in sport are now lined up for

“The Challenge for Europe in the Governance of Sport”

– a one day seminar at Hotel Silken Berlaymont in Brussels on 8 April from 09-00-16.00.

At this early stage, more than 50 experts and stakeholders have already registered their participation for this event which will mark the efforts done by a number of NGO’s with regard to promoting good governance in sport.

As the seminar can only hold around 100 guests, we encourage you to register now and secure a seat if you are engaged in the field.

The seminar will feature a range of renowned speakers and panelists all with expert knowledge on sports governance.

Speakers include:

Darren Bailey, Director of Football Governance and Regulation, FA
Ingrid Beutler, Manager with SportAccord’s Sports Integrity Unit
Folker Hellmund, Head of the EU Office of the EOC
Dr. Borja García, Sport & EU, Loughborough University
Sylvia Schenk, Transparency International Germany

and many others.

Simon Kuper, sports columnist at Financial Times will be chairing the seminar and moderating the panel discussions.

The seminar is arranged by Play the Game and the Danish Institute for Sports Studies to conclude its cooperation with six European universities and the European Journalism Centre gathered in the Action for Good Governance in International Sport (AGGIS).
